Paloma Faith: Do You Want the Truth or Something Beautiful?

Paloma Faith is a British artist who first came onto the music scene when she released her debut single ‘Stone Cold Sober’ in 2009 (reaching number 17 in the charts). ‘Do You Want the Truth or Something Beautiful’ is her debut album released in 2009 by Epic Records-a SONY Music company- following her second single, ‘New York’.

Paloma Faith front

Her unique sound has an almost 40’s feel to it, and is very easy on the ears, making it the perfect soundtrack for many situations. Except maybe house parties (not that they happen often, if at all!)

Paloma Faith inside

Inside the cover, there is a booklet containing the lyrics to all tracks on the album, as well as some pictures of the lady herself, looking as glam as ever.

Track Listing

This album contains 10 tracks, with a mixture of tempos and rhythms. Some have a slow feel to them, for example ‘Broken Doll’, but this doesn’t mean they’re aren’t as likeable as some of the up-beat songs such as ‘Upside Down’.

Favourite songs: Stone Cold Sober, Upside Down, Romance is Dead

Least favourite song: My Legs are Weak (just a bit too slow for me!)

As far as debut albums go, I think Paloma’s done pretty well for herself with so many likeable songs on one album.
